fter 22 years, winning the Champion League and 14 months after the death of Ajax legend Johan Cruijff, Ajax Amsterdam steps in to the final of the UEFA Europea League against Manchester United. An all star showdown of young talent against established stars. This is also a clash of a defensive team against an attacking team. Ajax, being the young and hungry team, has amazed the world with it’s striking force and  perfect gameplay.
Ajax have every reason to feel quietly confident. Ajax made some impressive victories on the road to Stockholm, including Lyon, Schalke and Celta Vigo. Peter Bosz’s young players have played attacking, attractive and often bold football to get to the final; it would be great to see that approach rewarded with a prize.

Sijtje, the psychic Dutch cow with predictive superpowers

Sijtje, a Dutch cow famous in the Netherlands for its super predictive powers, has forecasted  Ajax as the winner int the final. Sijtje’s owner lays out various buckets of labelled food, with his prize cattle then let out of its enclosure – whichever one he eats from first supposedly goes on to win!

Mythilogical clash of the Gods

The nickname of the Ajax team is ‘Godsons’ or ‘Sons of The Gods’. As for Machester United it is ‘The Red Devils’. An interesting encounter as this brings a certain mythilogical context to this grand final. God vs. The Devil is a classic concept which even now,  in the modern age, manifests itself on a grand scale. Add in the Goddesses of JTB and you will get the whole Pantheon taking its stand in the final hours… Enjoy!
